It's a huge privilege to be involved in your life event. The Vicar and the team here are able to craft and put together services that reflect the importance of the event and are available to meet to talk through what is available and how we can help. If you can't see what you're after below, do get in touch.

Baptism

We love Baptisms (also called Christenings)! We usually have baptisms as part of our main Sunday service at 10am as we welcome the person being baptised into the family of the church. It’s important for the church family to be part of the church’s promises and welcome.

Baptism for babies and children takes place in a service where parents give thanks for the gift of life and make a decision to start their child on a journey of faith and where godparents promise help and support. The church also promises to welcome the child and to pray for the family.

For your child, being baptised at a Christening marks the start of a lifelong journey and being part of an amazing family that is the church. If you'd like to be baptised, please get in touch. We ask that everyone comes to a preparation morning before we put a date in the dairy for the Christening Service. We have a number of preparation mornings across the year.

For older children and adults, we have a slightly different wording to the baptism service as those being baptised make the promises for themselves. You are never too young or too old to be baptised.

Weddings

We have four amazing church buildings that can be part of your very special day (although generally, we only hold weddings at St Luke's, St Francis or St John's). You'll need to have what is known as a 'Qualifying Connection' to get married in the parish but there are a good number of ways to get one!

Around the wedding service we can craft an amazing ceremony for you - with your choice of music and readings. We've got good sound systems in each of our churches as well as an amazing organist and choir if you'd like something a little more traditional. We have livestreaming cameras installed in St Luke's, St John's and St Francis' Churches which are also capable of recording your service.

There are a few legalities involved in getting married - the website linked below will talk you through that as well as giving details of Qualifying Connections!

funerals

It's a really tough time having to arrange a funeral. The Vicar and team have lots of experience in helping families through this time and in the planning of a funeral service. We can lead services at the crematorium, cemetery or in one of our churches.

The benefit of having a service in church before (or after) a burial or cremation is that there are little or no time pressures - and it doesn't cost any more than a service at the crematorium.

We're able to help you with music (both contemporary and religious), readings and put together a service that enables you to say farewell to a loved one well.
