        How are you fulfilling your Christian commitment?

Human Concerns is a working group of diverse individuals from both St. Mary's and St. Roberts who's focus is serving our parishioners and the larger community.   The Human Concerns Committee's scope of responsibility is threefold:

• To meet parishioners life issue needs
• To educate parishioners on social justice issues
• To Work for changes in Structures of society which are oppressive

The committee strives to be project/task based (versus committee based) helping to match talent, time and resources to various parish outreach activities.  The committee is tasked with discerning parishioner 'human' needs and identifies the resources to meet those needs in a collaborative spirit to meet parish wide goals with other parish standing committees.

• Here is a sample of Human Concerns projects in Motion:
• Veteran and military service person outreach
• Helping Hands - Providing transportation and assistance with errands for the ill, elderly and recently released from hospital care
• Food, clothing and supply collection to assist those in need
• Mother's Day Rose Sale to support Right to Life activities
• Election issue discussion forums
• Lifestyle topic seminars and workshops, such as estate planning, Medicare, medical decisions, advanced directive and Catholic burial
